Did you know you must comply to HIPAA 5010 before moving to the ICD-10 set of diagnostic codes? The transition is a necessary step for all medical practices. However, a Nov. 17, 2011 statement from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced a 90-day grace period for enforcement of the HIPAA 5010 transactions sets, which had a compliance date of Jan. 1, 2012.
