Julie Pope, CMA (AAMA), CPC-H-I

Julie Pope, CMA (AAMA), CPC-H-I holds certifications in medical assisting, coding, practice management and instructing. Through her more 23 years of experience in healthcare, Ms. Pope has developed an expertise in the areas of: billing/insurance, ICD-9, CPT, & HCPCS coding, OSHA, CLIA, hazardous chemical & HIPAA compliance, third party payer & patient collections, medical records management, personnel management, practice start-up, consulting, as well as, performing clinical duties.

Over the years, Ms. Pope has conducted seminars on topics that include communications, telephone etiquette, CPT/ICD-9 coding, medical record auditing, and patient service. She has served as an instructor for medical terminology/anatomy, medical law/ethics, medical office procedures, medical billing/insurance, ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS coding classes.

She is currently the program director of both the medical coding and medical office administrator programs of ATA Career Education. She maintains, with pride, professional affiliations with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) and the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
