Marion A. Salwin, CPC, CPC-I has over 25 years of experience in the health care industry. Currently, she is the director of education and policy of the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, MI where she assesses, designs and evaluates customer oriented educational programs that are aimed at improving the quality of coding, documentation practices, and the cycle of revenue. She also serves as an educational resource for providers, coders and support staff, and provides compliance education, support, and policy utilizing industry coding standards for physicians and ancillary staff.
Marion is a national speaker for the Coding Institute. She co-authored Academic Emergency Medicine, May 2001, Reliability of Assigning Correct E&M Codes: Is Compliance Possible? Marion’s field of expertise is in the area of developing coding and billing curriculums as she did for Macomb Community College, Henry Ford Health System University, and Elsevier.
The certification Marion holds are: PMCC Certified Educator (awarded by theAmerican Academy of Procedural Coders, 1999 and 2004), and Certified Procedural Coder (awarded by the AAPC in 1997).
