Pamela Asbury, CPC,CPMA,CPC-I,PCS Asbury holds an excellent record of having mentored and instructed many students with one class of 14 — with a 100% pass rate for the CPC® exam.  She is also an Adjunct Professor for Mountwest Community and Technical College, Dept of Continuing and Corporate Education (formerly Marshall University Community and Technical College).

Pam has over 25 years experience in the health care industry specializing in physician practice management and coding education.  She is a graduate of Marshall University and has worked as an office manager, director of coding and reimbursement, coding auditor, consultant and an instructor.

Asbury has developed the curriculum and instructed classes on basic  ICD-9, CPT,  Medical Terminology, Basic Anatomy and Advanced Coding Reviews for national certifications, Evaluation and Management Course and the AAPC Professional Medical Coding Curriculum class.

She has also instructed classes for the Workforce Development program:  Medical Office Billing and Coding and manages a Cardiology/Internal Medicine Practice and is a member of the Palmetto GBA Provider Outreach and Education Advisory Group (Medicare Contractors for Ohio and West Virginia).

She is accredited by the American Academy of Professional Coders as both a Certified Professional Coder and Instructor.

She also holds a Physician Coding Specialist certification from the American College of Medical Coding Specialists.  She has been the education officer for the local AAPC chapter for two years and is currently the president-elect.  She also holds a position on Palmetto GBA’s Medicare Provider Outreach Education Advisory Group for West Virginia.
