What is a Specialty Credential?

Better Pay: According to an AAPC salary survey, Specialty Credentialed Coders earn an average of 28% more than their non-certified counterparts. The average annual wage for a credentialed coder is $44,750 compared to $37,290 for a non-credentialed coder.

Increased Job Opportunities: 41% of coding positions are closed to non-certified coders. Recent search of monster.com revealed 310 available medical coding positions, 128 of which required certification.
